Solar panel installation in Málaga

Looking for the best solar panel installer in Málaga? MiTechoSolar.com provides top-rated solar installation for homes, villas, townhouses and apartments across Málaga capital and the wider province, including El Palo, Pedregalejo, Teatinos, Churriana, Cerrado de Calderón, Torremolinos and the Axarquía. With over 320 days of sunshine per year, Málaga is one of the best locations in Europe for solar energy production. Our installations combine high-efficiency Tier-1 panels with battery storage and EV charging options, custom-engineered by Mi Techo Solar. Every project includes a free solar survey with drone inspection, 3D performance model, personalised ROI calculation and full paperwork for the Junta de Andalucía INEA 2026 grant (55–65% for solar with battery, applications from 22 October 2026; see /solar-panels-grant-andalusia) and IBI bonus. The new INEA 2026 solar panels grant in Andalusia covers 55–65% of eligible costs for homeowners and owners' associations, and we prepare the application for you. Contact us for your free solar quote in Málaga.

Solar panel cost in Málaga

Solar panels in Málaga cost around €500 per panel installed, that includes the panel (540–610 Wp), inverter, mounting, VAT, installation and legalisation. Most homes start at ten panels, so a typical 5.4 kWp system in Málaga comes to about €5,000 all-in. With a PVGIS reference yield of about 1,750 kWh per kWp per year, that system produces roughly 9500 kWh annually. Every quote includes legalisation under RD 244/2019, the electrical certificate and registration for surplus compensation.

Solar installers in Málaga

We are a solar installer in Málaga with our own in-house crews, no subcontractors, working across El Limonar, Pedregalejo, Teatinos, Churriana and the historic centre. Mi Techo Solar SL is registered in Andalusia, fully insured, and every installation is commissioned and handed over by the same engineer who designed it.

Shared solar for apartment blocks in Málaga

Most homes in Málaga city are apartments, so collective self-consumption is the norm rather than the exception. We handle the owners' association agreement (a simple majority is enough under RD 244/2019), the production split per coefficient and the IBI property-tax rebate the Málaga city council grants for solar panels.

How much do solar panels in Málaga save?

A 5 kWp solar system in Málaga produces about 8,750 kWh per year according to PVGIS, which is €150–200 per month off an average household bill. From around €500 per panel installed, €5,000 for a typical ten-panel 5.4 kWp system, all-in, payback in Málaga is typically 3 to 4 years, while the panels carry a 25-year production warranty.

Solar panel batteries in Málaga

Nearly every system we install in Málaga ends up considering storage, because the panels produce at midday while the house consumes after sunset. Without a battery self-consumption stays at 30–40%; with a correctly sized one it rises to 80–95%. A couple is usually covered by 5 kWh, a family with air conditioning or a pool needs 10–15 kWh, and a villa with continuous climate control 15–20 kWh.

We install LFP lithium storage with a ten to fifteen year warranty, in most cases onto an existing system without replacing the inverter. Installed prices, capacities and real projects are on our solar panel battery storage page, and where the inverter is a hybrid we also size blackout backup, which matters in Málaga.

INEA 2026 solar grant in Málaga

Homeowners and owners’ associations in Málaga can apply under the Andalucía-wide INEA 2026 programme (BDNS 930704). The residential line covers 55% to 65% of eligible investment in solar self-consumption with battery storage. Panels and battery must form one investment; storage is capped at 5 kWh per kW and at least 75% of its annual charge must come from the installation’s own solar production. Applications open on 22 October 2026 at 09:00 and are handled in order of submission until 30 September 2027 or the budget is exhausted. This regional grant is separate from any municipal IBI or ICIO rebate in Málaga.

Solar subsidies, IBI and ICIO rebates in Málaga

Every town hall sets its own tax ordinance, so what you can claim in Málaga is decided by the ordenanza fiscal of the Ayuntamiento de Málaga for the current year. We check that ordinance before quoting and we file the paperwork for you. In Málaga city most projects are collective self-consumption in apartment blocks: the IBI rebate is claimed per home, not per building, so we prepare one supporting file per owner.

IBI rebate in Málaga

Article 74.5 of the Spanish local finance act (RDL 2/2004) lets a town hall grant up to 50% off the IBI property tax for self-consumption solar, for a number of years it sets itself. It only applies if the Ayuntamiento de Málaga has included it in the ordinance in force, so we verify the current text and the filing deadline, which is usually tied to the installation date and the cadastral reference.

ICIO rebate on the works tax

Article 103.2.b of the same act allows up to 95% off the ICIO construction tax for solar installations. The ICIO is paid with the declaración responsable at the Ayuntamiento de Málaga and is calculated on the actual cost of the works, so battery storage and electrical upgrades count towards the base as well.

Grants and tax relief beyond the town hall

On top of the municipal rebates there is the national income-tax deduction for energy-efficiency works, where it is in force for the tax year, and the regional INEA 2026 grant from the Junta de Andalucía: 55% to 65% for solar with a battery, applications from 22 October 2026, and no support on the residential line without storage. We tell you honestly which of these is actually available on the day you sign, instead of quoting a grant that closed.

Storage changes the maths in Málaga: it raises the ICIO base slightly but cuts the share of the production you export at a low price.

Tax rules change every budget year. Treat the above as what we verify for you, not as a guarantee of a specific percentage.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Comunidad and penthouse roofs in Málaga capital are most of our work here: Teatinos, El Limonar, Pedregalejo, El Palo, Churriana and Cerrado de Calderón. We prepare the technical dossier for the administrador de fincas, the one-third vote under Ley 8/2013, the legalisation with Endesa and the Málaga IBI bonus. Our office is at Calle Arquímedes 86, Local 9, 29100 Coín (Málaga), so surveys and after-sales are local. For a general overview of solar panels in Málaga see our main page, and for installers across the wider Costa del Sol see our Costa del Sol installer page.

Check three things before signing anything in Málaga: that the quote names the exact panel, inverter and battery models (not just "Tier-1"), that legalisation with Endesa is included in the price, and that the installer issues the CIE certificate itself. Mi Techo Solar SL (CIF B44974491) is based in Málaga at Calle Arquímedes 86, Local 9; we prepare the full legalisation file in-house and every installation is reviewed and signed off by a colegiado engineer.

Around 1,750 kWh per installed kWp per year according to PVGIS data for the province of Málaga. A 5 kWp system therefore produces roughly 8,750 kWh annually, about double what the same panels would yield in northern Europe. South-facing roofs at a 30° tilt hit the top of that range; flat roofs with ballasted mounting land 5–8% lower.

Mi Techo Solar installs solar panels for villas, townhouses, apartments and commercial buildings across all of Málaga capital and the province, El Palo, Pedregalejo, Teatinos, Churriana, Cerrado de Calderón, Limonar, Torremolinos, Rincón de la Victoria, Vélez-Málaga and the Axarquía. We typically visit within 48 hours for a free on-site solar survey with drone inspection.

A typical residential solar installation in Málaga costs between €4,200 and €9,500 depending on system size (3–8 kWp), roof type and whether battery storage is included. Most homes pay back the investment in 5–7 years thanks to Málaga's exceptional solar yield and the INEA 2026 grant (55–65%) for systems with a battery.

Málaga homeowners typically save 60–80% on their electricity bill. With 320+ days of sunshine per year and net-billing (compensación de excedentes) you sell surplus production back to the grid. A 5 kWp system saves around €1,300–€1,900 per year in Málaga.

Málaga residents qualify for the Junta de Andalucía INEA 2026 grant (55–65% for solar with battery, applications from 22 October 2026; see /solar-panels-grant-andalusia), the IBI municipal property-tax reduction (up to 50% for 3–5 years depending on the ayuntamiento) and the IRPF income-tax deduction (20–60% of investment). Mi Techo Solar handles all subsidy paperwork on your behalf.

For individual rooftops (villas, townhouses) no community permission is required. For shared roofs in apartment blocks, Spanish Law 8/2013 only requires 1/3 of owners to approve the solar installation. We prepare the technical dossier and present it to your administrador de fincas.

From signed quote to commissioned system typically takes 4–6 weeks: 1 week design and permits (Junta de Andalucía + Endesa), 2–3 weeks panel and inverter delivery, 1–2 days installation on your roof, and 1–2 weeks utility connection and net-billing activation.

Yes. Mi Techo Solar SL (CIF B44974491) is based in Coín, Málaga (Calle Arquímedes 86, Local 9, 29100 Coín). We prepare the full legalisation file in-house, every installation is reviewed and signed off by a colegiado engineer, and we hold full liability insurance.

Your installation is legalised under RD 244/2019 with the Junta de Andalucía and Endesa. The electrical side needs a certificate of electrical installation, the boletín eléctrico (CIE), which our own registered electricians issue. If you are selling or renting the property afterwards, solar usually improves the energy label, so we can combine it with an energy performance certificate in Málaga in the same visit.

Yes. We integrate Pylontech, Deye, Solplanet, Enphase and our own MTS (LVTOPSUN) battery systems, plus Type 2 EV chargers from 7.4 kW to 22 kW. Adding storage and EV charging at install time saves 15–25% versus retrofitting later.

In Málaga the price per installed kW is around €1,150/kWp for small 3 kWp systems and drops to roughly €900–950/kWp from 8 kWp upwards, turnkey (panels, inverter, mounting, labour and legalisation). Each kWp produces about 1,750 kWh a year here, so the lifetime cost per kWh generated stays far below the grid tariff.

The installation in Málaga normally takes one or two working days; we are 35 minutos from our base in Coín, so the crew arrives early and no day is lost. From signing the quote to a producing system is typically 2 to 4 weeks (material delivery and installation slot), while the paperwork with the Ayuntamiento de Málaga and the grid operator continues afterwards without interrupting your self-consumption.

Yes: in Málaga the Ayuntamiento de Málaga offers an IBI rebate for self-consumption and an ICIO reduction on the building permit or declaración responsable, as set out in each year's tax ordinance (municipal track). Regional: the Junta de Andalucía INEA 2026 grant covers 55% to 65% for solar with a battery, with applications from 22 October 2026 (no storage, no support on the residential line; conditions). State: IRPF income-tax deduction for energy-efficiency works. We prepare and file the paperwork (technical report, installation certificate and receipts) as part of the service — ask us through the contact form.

Mi Techo Solar installs solar panels in Málaga with our own in-house crew, no subcontractors. We are a registered installer across Málaga capital: free solar survey, fixed written quote, installation, RD 244/2019 legalisation and surplus-compensation registration. Request a site visit via our contact form.

The price of solar panels in Málaga depends on system size: a 5 kWp system (about ten panels) is around €5,700 turnkey including VAT, mounting, inverter, labour and legalisation, producing roughly 8,750 kWh per year. Adding a battery or going to 8–12 kWp raises the total but lowers the cost per kWp. We always quote a fixed price after inspecting the roof.

In Málaga a home using 4,000–6,000 kWh per year is covered by 10 to 14 panels (4.5–6.5 kWp), since each installed kWp yields about 1,750 kWh a year. With a pool, air-conditioning or an EV, 8–12 kWp plus a battery makes more sense. We always size from your latest electricity bill, never from estimates.

Request your solar panel quote in Málaga through our contact form or on WhatsApp at +34 685 325 739. With your address and a recent electricity bill we send a first estimate within 24 hours and book the free on-site survey within 48–72 hours. The quote is fixed, in writing and with no obligation.

In Málaga you will see very cheap solar offers that later exclude legalisation, the electrical certificate or the mounting warranty, and that is where the extra cost appears. Our price includes Tier-1 equipment, our own installation crew, the full paperwork and warranty; comparing quotes line by line pays off more than comparing headline totals.

A turnkey 3 kWp system in Málaga starts around €4,200 and a typical 5 kWp villa system lands between €6,000 and €7,500 including panels, inverter, mounting, labour, certificates and legalisation. Adding a battery usually costs €3,000–€5,000 depending on capacity. A 5 kWp array here produces roughly 8,750 kWh a year, so most homes recover the investment in five to seven years.

Yes. You need an NIE, the property deed or a rental authorisation and a Spanish utility contract in the property's name; we handle the rest of the paperwork. For owners who are not in Málaga during the works we send photo reports at each stage and can sign off remotely, and surplus energy is compensated on the bill so an empty house still earns from its production.

Yes. Our team works in English, Spanish and Dutch, so the survey in Málaga, the written quote, the warranty documents and the after-sales support are all available in English. Contracts are issued bilingually when you need the Spanish version for the community of owners or the town hall.

Compare on four things rather than headline price: whether the company installs with its own crew, whether legalisation and the electrical certificate are included in the quote, which panel and inverter brands are specified with their warranty years, and whether after-sales service is local. Mi Techo Solar covers Málaga from Coín with in-house crews, Tier-1 equipment, a 25-year panel warranty and maintenance contracts, and every quote lists those items separately so you can compare line by line.

Yes, on properties around Málaga without a grid connection or with a weak rural supply. A real off grid solar system is not a bigger rooftop array but a different design: a hybrid inverter, 15–40 kWh of LFP battery storage, an automatic transfer switch (ATS) and an EPS backup output, so the house keeps running with no grid behind it. Off grid solar kits sold online are usually undersized once air conditioning, a borehole pump and a pool are on the list, so we size on measured consumption. Budget roughly €16,000–€26,000 for a permanent home and €28,000–€45,000 for a fully self-sufficient finca. See system sizes, prices and a real project on our off-grid solar installation page.

Yes, we handle the full paperwork with the Málaga ayuntamiento (up to 50% IBI reduction for 3–5 years) and the Junta de Andalucía INEA 2026 grant (55–65% for solar with battery, applications from 22 October 2026; see /solar-panels-grant-andalusia). Zero forms for you to fill in. Start your application here or message us on WhatsApp with a photo of your latest IBI receipt.

Once you approve the quote we typically start in Málaga within 3–4 weeks, permits filed within 5 working days, hardware ordered same day, physical install in 1–2 days. Reserve your Málaga slot now via the contact form or WhatsApp; we book by first-come, first-served.

Solar panels in Málaga cost about €500 per panel installed, VAT, inverter, installation and legalisation included, and most homes start at ten panels, so a typical 5.4 kWp system is around €5,000 all-in. That array yields around 9,500 kWh a year here, which for a typical household covers most daytime consumption. The quote always includes legalisation, the electrical certificate and surplus compensation registration, there are no separate paperwork fees.

Ask three things: does the installer work with its own crews in El Limonar, Pedregalejo, Teatinos, Churriana and the historic centre, does the quote include the RD 244/2019 legalisation, and who answers the phone after commissioning. Mi Techo Solar installs with in-house teams, handles the full permit process and keeps the same engineer on your project from survey to handover.

Panels carry up to 25 years of product and performance warranty, inverters 10 to 12 years (extendable) and batteries 10 years. On top of that we give a workmanship and waterproofing warranty on the mounting we install in Málaga, and near the coast we fit A4 stainless steel fixings so salt air does not shorten that lifetime.

Two levels apply. Municipally, the works are notified to the ayuntamiento; nationally, the system is legalised under RD 244/2019 (self-consumption) and registered with the Junta de Andalucía and the distributor, Endesa e-distribución, for surplus compensation. In the city of Málaga a rooftop self-consumption system is normally filed as a declaración responsable de obra with the ICIO building tax; the Ayuntamiento publishes ICIO and IBI reductions for self-consumption in its current Ordenanza Fiscal, and we file the paperwork to claim them. Inside the protected historic centre a heritage report is added, so we plan those projects with extra lead time. Mi Techo Solar files every step, you sign, we submit.

Five steps: (1) free site survey in Málaga, roof, orientation, shading and your last electricity bills; (2) a fixed quote with the expected annual production; (3) municipal notification and the RD 244/2019 file; (4) installation on the roof, normally one to two days for a 10-panel system; (5) commissioning, monitoring app and the surplus-compensation registration with your retailer. From signature to a working system is typically two to four weeks; the retailer's surplus compensation usually appears on the bill within one or two billing cycles after that.

Málaga neighbourhoods where we install solar panels

Every neighbourhood has a different roof. This is how we work as a solar panel company in Málaga in the areas where we install most:

Teatinos

Apartment blocks and penthouses: most projects are comunidad installations or private rooftop systems with ballasted mounting that does not pierce the waterproofing.

El Palo y Pedregalejo

Low houses and villas by the sea: corrosion-resistant materials matter because of the salt air, and the south-southeast orientation is very productive.

El Limonar y Cerrado de Calderón

Villas with garden and pool: 8 to 14 panel systems, often with battery and EV charger in the same app.

Centro histórico

Listed buildings: we prepare the heritage report and add it to the Málaga city council file before installing anything.

Churriana y Campanillas

Townhouses and chalets with pitched roofs: one-day installation and high year-round yield thanks to the open orientation of the Guadalhorce valley.

Puerto de la Torre

Townhouse developments: ideal for 10-panel self-consumption kits with legalisation and surplus compensation included.

Ciudad Jardín

Garden chalets between the centre and Teatinos: roofs with some tree shade, where we survey by drone and use optimisers to protect the yield.

Bailén-Miraflores

Dense residential blocks: most owners cover their air-conditioning and heat-pump consumption first, with surplus compensation on the bill.

Comparing solar panel companies in Málaga

Málaga has many sales offices that sell solar panels and subcontract the roof work. Before signing, ask every company for these five points; a serious installer answers them within a day.

Solar panels in Málaga city and the metropolitan area

We cover Málaga city and its surroundings: Rincón de la Victoria, La Cala del Moral, Benagalbón, Cártama, Alhaurín el Grande and Coín. Residential self-consumption works particularly well on detached and terraced houses with a free roof, where 8 to 14 panels fit without shading problems.

For flats and penthouses we offer balcony solar and plug-in batteries, and for buildings we set up collective self-consumption with fixed sharing coefficients. In all cases we handle the paperwork, the surplus compensation request and the local IBI rebate.
