What does it cost to install solar panels in Spain?

Our price is per installed panel, so the maths is simple. A 540 Wp or 610 Wp panel costs 500 EUR fully installed from ten panels upwards, including the inverter, the mounting system, the AC and DC work, the electrical certificate and the legalisation with the Junta de Andalucia.

• 10 panels, around 5.4 to 6.1 kWp: from 5,000 EUR
• 14 panels, around 7.6 to 8.5 kWp: from 7,000 EUR
• 20 panels, around 10.8 to 12.2 kWp: from 10,000 EUR
• Battery from 5 kWh: add roughly 3,000 EUR, 16 kWh from roughly 5,500 EUR

Solar panel prices per system size and what you save

At an electricity tariff of 0.20 EUR per kWh and Andalusian irradiation of roughly 1,650 kWh per kWp per year, a 6 kWp system produces close to 9,900 kWh. With realistic self-consumption plus compensated surplus, most family homes on the Costa del Sol save 150 to 200 EUR a month, which puts the payback between four and six years.

• 8 kWp with a small battery: covers most evening consumption
• 12 kWp with pool and air conditioning: sized on your real annual bill

What is included, and what is not

Everything needed to switch the system on legally is in the price. What sits outside it is work on your own installation that is not solar: replacing an old fuse board, upgrading a supply from single phase to three phase, or roof repairs. We inspect this during the site survey and quote it separately, before you sign.

Cost of a solar installation for a Spanish holiday home

For a second home the sizing logic changes: consumption is concentrated in the weeks you are here, so a smaller array with a battery often beats a large array with a lot of exported surplus. We look at your real invoices from Endesa, Iberdrola or Naturgy over twelve months and size on that, not on a standard template.
