What a solar canopy costs per parking bay
A single-bay solar canopy of about 3 kWp lands between 4,900 and 7,500 EUR turnkey. A two-bay structure of roughly 6 kWp sits between 8,500 and 12,000 EUR, and from four bays upwards the price per bay drops because the posts, foundations and inverter are shared. Prices include structure, panels, inverter, cabling, installation, structural calculation and the municipal file; ground works on earth or gravel are quoted separately after the site visit.
Solar canopies for communities of owners
Communal parking is the most common application on the Costa del Sol. The structure covers the existing bays without changing the layout, and production feeds the communal supply: lifts, lighting, pumps and the garage doors. Collective self-consumption also lets participating owners take a share of the production. We prepare the technical dossier and the cost breakdown that the administrator needs for the general meeting, and we handle the vote paperwork with them.
Solar canopies for companies and commercial car parks
For hotels, supermarkets, workshops and offices a solar canopy turns dead asphalt into generation exactly when the business consumes: during opening hours. Steel spans of 6 metres and more keep the bays free of intermediate posts, the structure carries lighting, cameras and EV chargers, and the whole installation is deductible as a business investment. We build in phases so the car park stays partly in use during the works.
EV charging under the canopy
Every canopy can be delivered with one or more chargers of 7.4 kW or 22 kW mounted on the posts, with load balancing so several cars share the available power without tripping the supply. Combined with a battery of 5 to 15 kWh the car also charges in the evening from the energy the canopy produced during the day. This is the setup most requested for villas with two vehicles and for company fleets.
Structure, materials and wind load
Hot-dip galvanised steel is the standard for larger car parks and exposed plots; powder-coated marine-grade aluminium is used near the sea and where the look matters. Every structure comes with a wind-load calculation for the Costa del Sol and foundations dimensioned for the ground on site: chemical anchors on existing concrete, or concrete footings on earth and gravel. The rainproof version adds sealed panel joints, gutters and downpipes so the bays stay dry.
Marquesina solar, marquesina fotovoltaica or solar carport
Marquesina solar and marquesina fotovoltaica are the Spanish terms for what English-speaking clients call a solar carport or solar canopy: the same structure over vehicles. When the same structure covers a terrace, a dining area or a pool instead of cars it is called a pergola solar or pergola fotovoltaica. Whichever term you searched for, we build all of them with the same panels, inverters, warranty and installation team.
