A townhouse with 8 panels (4.4 kWp) comes in at around €4,950 turnkey, a family home of 5 kWp at €5,200–€6,200 and a villa of 8 kWp at €7,500–€8,900. Every price includes panels, inverter, mounting, labour, VAT and RD 244/2019 legalisation. With a 10 kWh battery the 8 kWp system works out at about €13,750.

With Costa del Sol irradiation (about 1,750 kWh per kWp per year), a 4.4 kWp townhouse system produces roughly 7,700 kWh and saves around €1,250 a year, so it pays back in about 4 years. A 15 kWp business or finca system saves some €4,300 a year and pays back in just over 3 years. Panels carry a 25-year output warranty.

Yes. The site survey and the quote are free and without obligation, issued in writing within 24 hours with a fixed price line by line: panels, inverter, battery if included, mounting, labour, legalisation and VAT. There are no hidden costs and no price revisions after signing unless you change the scope yourself.

A 5 kWh lithium battery adds €3,200–€3,900, a 10 kWh one €5,400–€6,400 and a 15 kWh one €7,600–€8,900, on top of the solar system price and with backup during power cuts. For a villa with a pool and air conditioning, the 10 kWh battery usually adds the most self-consumption.

The yearly maintenance plan, with cleaning, an electrical check and a production report, starts at €149 a year for a residential system. A one-off clean after a calima episode starts at €95. On the Costa del Sol Saharan dust can cost up to 15% of output, so a clean pays for itself.

Off-Grid Solar

Yes. An off-grid system is legal when it complies with RD 244/2019 and the Spanish low-voltage regulation (REBT), just like a grid-connected one. We handle the full legalisation: the electrical certificate, the technical project where required and registration with the Andalusian self-consumption register. On fincas and cortijos without a grid connection it is the standard way to get power — and usually cheaper than paying for a new grid connection.

An ATS (automatic transfer switch) switches the home between the solar inverter and a generator or the grid within milliseconds, without you doing anything. In an off-grid system it is the part that gives you continuity: if the batteries drop below a set level, the ATS starts the generator and switches back to solar once they recover. In the Loja project (28 Aiko panels, 15 kW Deye, 32 kWh) the ATS comes included together with the EPS output.

EPS (Emergency Power Supply) is an inverter output that keeps supplying power even if the grid or the generator fails, fed directly by the panels and batteries. We wire the home's critical circuits to it: fridge, lighting, water pump, internet and the main sockets. That way an off-grid finca never goes dark, not even during a breakdown.

A weekend cottage manages with 10–15 kWh (full system from €8,500). A daily-use home with air conditioning needs 15–25 kWh (€16,000–€26,000 turnkey), and a fully self-sufficient finca with pool and irrigation takes 30–40 kWh with ATS and EPS (€28,000–€45,000). We install modular, expandable LFP batteries; in Loja we fitted 32 kWh of MTS storage. Fixed written quote within 24 hours.

Seven steps: 1) planning check and choice of scheme (off-grid, grid-connected without export, with compensation or with surplus sale); 2) technical documentation — a technical memorandum up to 10 kW or a full engineering project above that; 3) the CIE electrical installation certificate issued by an authorised installer; 4) the CAU code, for grid-connected systems only; 5) commissioning registration (PUES, or TECI where applicable) with the Junta de Andalucía; 6) processing by the distribution company and the electricity retailer; 7) the self-consumption and surplus-compensation contract. The CAU (Código de Autoconsumo) is the unique code identifying a grid-connected self-consumption installation. It derives from the supply's CUPS number and is used by the distributor and the retailer to apply the right scheme and the surplus compensation. A genuinely off-grid system has no meter and no grid connection, so it has no CAU and no export contract — its legalisation ends with the CIE and the commissioning registration. If you later connect that system to the grid, a CAU must be requested.

"Muy buena experiencia con Mi Techo Solar. Contacté con ellos para la instalación de dos baterías Deye adicionales en mi sistema fotovoltaico y el servicio ha sido rápido, eficiente y muy profesional. Quiero destacar especialmente el trabajo de Santi, el técnico que realizó la instalación. Además de dejar las nuevas baterías perfectamente instaladas y funcionando, dedicó bastante tiempo a explicarme diferentes aspectos de mi instalación y resolvió muchas dudas que tenía. Se nota que conoce muy bien este tipo de sistemas y agradecí especialmente que me explicara todo de forma clara y sin prisas. Aprovechando la visita, también revisó el problema que tengo actualmente con un magnetotérmico C40 de la instalación, que está saltando cuando la demanda de la vivienda es elevada.
