Solar batteries in Málaga: what capacity you need and what it costs

This week we commissioned several battery installations across Málaga province. The most common setup: a Deye hybrid inverter with a 16 kWh LVTOPSUN battery, mounted outdoors in the shade or in the technical room.

What capacity do you need?

Rule of thumb: check how many kWh you use between 20:00 and 08:00. For a family home on the Costa del Sol that is usually 6 to 10 kWh in winter, and more in summer because of air conditioning. 10 usable kWh covers a normal night; 16 kWh also covers air conditioning peaks and the pool pump.

• Apartment or small home: 5 to 8 kWh
• Family villa with air conditioning: 10 to 16 kWh
• Villa with pool and EV: 16 kWh or more

What does it cost?

The price depends on the battery, the hybrid inverter and whether the legalisation has to be redone. We always quote a fixed price based on your actual electricity bill.

On villas in Marbella and Estepona with palm shade we usually propose [Huawei inverters](/inversores-huawei) with optimisers or the [LUNA2000 battery](/bateria-huawei-luna2000); on the clear roofs of Vélez-Málaga, the Axarquía, Cártama, Coín or Alhaurín de la Torre a [Deye hybrid](/inversor-deye) with Pylontech or LVTOPSUN cells performs almost identically for considerably less. We install, legalise and maintain with our own crew from Coín.
